After correctly picking the outcomes of three straight Ravens games, Las Vegas oddsmakers blew it Monday night.  The Ravens traveled to New Orleans and handed the Saints their third straight home loss to pull off the “upset.”  Not only did the Ravens prove oddsmakers wrong, but essentially no one picked them to pull off the road win.  Not even us.

This week, the team heads back to the friendly confines of M&T Bank Stadium in what is shaping up to be another pivotal game in the Ravens playoff push.  They host the San Diego Chargers, a team that is also looking to stay afloat in the playoff race in a tough division.  But while the Ravens are trending up, the Chargers have stumbled a bit of late after a strong start to the season.

Given those trends, Vegas has the Ravens as consensus six point favorites over the Chargers in week 13.  This is the fifth biggest spread of the weekend’s 13 games, a week that features some pretty lopsided matchups including Colts vs. Redskins and Dolphins vs. Jets.

That’s a pretty big vote of confidence given the fact that both teams have 7-4 records, but oddsmakers tend to follow trends and give a lot of credence to the home team.  In this case they are even more justified using those methods because the Ravens have won four straight at home after their opening day loss to the Bengals.

The total sits at a relatively uninspiring 46, which is pretty realistic.  Both of these offenses have the ability to light up the scoreboard, but neither has actually done it very much this season.  A fairly close score, with both teams recording point totals in the 20’s, is very likely.

Having said that, here are everyone’s Baltimore Ravens and San Diego Chargers odds.  What do you think about this week’s predictions?
