The Ravens are quickly becoming the scourge of Las Vegas oddsmakers, playing spoilers once again last week as they upset the Dolphins.  The Dolphins were three point favorites coming into that one.  Previously, the Ravens lost to the underdog Chargers at home and beat the favored Saints in New Orleans.

This week, the Ravens travel home to host the 2-11 Jacksonville Jaguars, where they are incredible 13 1/2 point consensus favorites.  That spread is the biggest of the week, and the biggest of the Ravens’ season so far.  It goes without saying the Jags are not a good football team, but as the Giants found out recently, they can still upset a team or two.

The Ravens are back in control of their playoff fate and have every reason to be motivated to take care of business this week.  The Jags are playing for little more than pride and draft positioning, but they have also come close to upsetting a couple of other powerhouse teams this year, including the Indianapolis Colts at home.

This is one of those games that could just as easily be a blowout as a surprise nail biter.  The Ravens should, by all indications, win by a large margin.  But what should happen doesn’t always end up the way we imagined.  One thing is for sure, and that is the Ravens can’t afford to look ahead this week.

In fact, the Jaguars hold the all-time edge against the Ravens, going 10-7.  They last met in 2011, when the Ravens won 12-7 in Jacksonville.  The Jags last victory came in 2008, with a 27-7 win in Baltimore.  Obviously, a lot has changed since those days.

Here are this week’s Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars odds.  What do you think about the predictions?
