Lowest Rated Defensive Players: Courtney Upshaw (-3.1), Anthony Levine (-1.3), Elvis Dumervil (-1.2), Lawrence Guy (-1.1), Casey Walker (-0.9)

Upshaw is often lauded by the coaching staff in Baltimore for his ability to set the edge against the run.  They might have a hard time hyping him up after the last few weeks, however, because he has been the Ravens’ worst defensive player over that span. Upshaw was whistled for two penalties this week, and had only one QB hurry and 0 tackles despite playing 38 snaps.

Levine gave up 2 catches on 3 targets for 58 yards, including a 49 yard completion to Taylor Gabriel that put the Browns in scoring position.  Dumervil failed to do much with his snaps this week, recording only a QB hurry even though his teammates were landing hits on Conner Shaw all day.

Guy played a ton of snaps (43) but received a negative grade in both run defense and pass rush.  We’ll forgive you for not noticing that Casey Walker played this week, as he only logged 9 snaps.  It appears that he eased in the rotation to test the waters and give everybody else a breather with Timmy Jernigan hurt.
