Raise your hand if you are surprised that the Patriots are big favorites over the Ravens for the divisional round of the AFC playoffs.  Nobody?  It’s admittedly not a surprise, as the Patriots are the top seed in the AFC and they are the favorites of many to win the Super Bowl this season.

Obviously, the Pats have been here and done that before as well.  The postseason success of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick is well documented, but they have been stopped before.  In fact, the Ravens sent them packing in New England just two seasons ago in the AFC Championship game.

The Ravens played arguably their best football of the season last week as they upset the Steelers in Pittsburgh.  While no one is likely to give them a chance to do it again, there are several reasons why Ravens fans can remain optimistic, even if oddmakers are not.

The Ravens are not, however, the biggest underdogs of Divisional Weekend.  Their consensus 7 point spread is tied with the Colts/Broncos, and is considerably lower than the 11 point advantage the Seahawks hold over the Panthers.

Here are this week’s Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots odds.  What do you think about the predictions?
