Welcome to the Daily Caw, where we round up all the latest Ravens news and notes from around the web.  Today we address the Josh McCown to Ravens rumors, look at best case scenarios for the first round of the draft, wonder whether Justin Forsett will stay or bolt for Denver, and why an extension for Marshal Yanda would be a win-win.

Josh McCown to Ravens?

The Bucs released quarterback Josh McCown yesterday after he predictably flopped as a starting quarterback while playing for anyone other than Marc Trestman.  So with Tyrod Taylor likely on his way out, what are the chances the Ravens try and reunite the two?  It really all boils down to whether or not McCown draws interest as a starter from a quarterback needy team, because he would be riding the pine in Baltimore.

Draft Best Case Scenarios

Here’s a new idea: the Ravens pick an offensive tackle in the first round.  Here the pick is Penn State’s Donovan Smith, widely considered a day two prospect by most.  No doubt the Ravens need depth at tackle, but do you use a first round pick for depth?

Justin Forsett: Baltimore or Denver?

Sometimes the ideas that people pitch make my brain hurt.  The Broncos have an all purpose back who is tailor made for Gary Kubiak’s system already in C.J. Anderson.  They also have Ronnie Hillman, who looked great before getting injured last year, and former second round pick Montee Ball.  I guess it’s a slow news week.

Extension for Marshall Yanda a Win-Win

Yanda could get a deal that would allow him to finish his career in Baltimore, and the Ravens would free up some much needed cap space.  Yanda graded out as the best guard in the NFL last season by Pro Football Focus, and it wasn’t even close.
