After striking out on Perrish Cox, it seems that the Baltimore Ravens have their sights set on another veteran cornerback: former Green Bay Packer Tramon Williams.  The Baltimore Sun is reporting that the Ravens are eyeing the 32 year old, who has previously visited the Browns and Saints.

Williams, who graded out as Pro Football Focus’ 34th best cornerback in 2014, was believed to be seeking around $5 million a year on a new contract.  The fact that he has left both Cleveland and New Orleans without a deal likely means his asking price is getting ready to drop.

Williams proved in 2014 that he still has every down capability after recording 61 tackles, 3 interceptions, and a fumble recovery across 16 games.  He has been remarkably durable over the course of his career as well, appearing in all 16 games each season with the exception of 2011, when he appeared in 15.

Tramon Williams would be an excellent get for the Ravens if the price is right.  He is a durable, productive, veteran presence that would not only provide quality depth at a critical position, but he would also likely compete with Lardarius Webb for snaps.  We’ll find out soon just how interested the Ravens are if his price has come down a bit.
