The Baltimore Ravens have had more than a cursory interest in offensive linemen in the current pre draft process, and now you can add another name to the list – Max Garcia.  According to the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens have scheduled a private workout with the multi talented center/tackle.

Garcia was unable to work out at the NFL Combine due to a shoulder injury, but appeared to be over it at his pro day workout Tuesday, where he logged 30 reps on the bench press.  He played at left tackle for both Maryland and Florida before making the switch to center.  Garcia started 37 games across his career, 17 at left tackle, 13 at center, and 7 at left guard.

That kind of flexibility is appealing to the Ravens, who love having the ability to move their linemen around when needed.  It’s hard to guess exactly where he will go in the draft, however.  While Aaron Wilson at the Sun believes he will be a first or second round pick, NFL Draft Scout has him pegged as going in rounds 6-7.

Garcia’s performance at his pro day will certainly improve his standing, and TFY’s Draft Insider Tony Pauline is reporting that teams are beginning to warm up to the idea of Garcia being the second rated center in the draft, behind only Hroniss Grasu of Oregon.  The Ravens aren’t necessarily in need of a center with Jeremy Zuttah playing well last year, but they could use a versatile depth piece.  And Max Garcia might just be the most versatile of the bunch.
