The Baltimore Ravens, for the first time since 1995, selected a wide receiver in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft: Central Florida’s Breshad Perriman. Perriman gives the Ravens a ridiculously fast and athletic, big bodied receiver with boatloads of upside.
Having said that, Perriman was also plagued by drops through his college career and was never asked to run any complex routes. He is a bit raw, but has a tremendous ceiling. He will begin his career by taking the place of Torrey Smith as a deep threat, but where he end up after that?
Reaction to the Perriman pick has been a mixed bag across social media. Some have called him “Torrey Smith 2.0,” while others have hailed him as perhaps the best wide receiver prospect the Ravens have ever had. If nothing else, he’s a much cheaper, bigger, and faster replacement for Smith.
So we know how all the big media outlets feel about the Perriman, and I’ve already handed out my grade for the pick as well. What we want to know is, what do you, the fans think? We want you to grade the Ravens draft selection of Breshad Perriman, and we’ll follow up in a few days with the results.
This one should be interesting!
