Cornerback was easily exposed in 2014 as a great position of need for the Baltimore Ravens, especially after a Lisfranc foot injury knocked top corner Jimmy Smith out for the season.  A rash of injuries meant that the team was scrambling to add healthy bodies off the street, and the results were obviously predictable.

That lack of depth might just have kept this team from another Super Bowl berth, as Tom Brady picked the Ravens’ ragtag secondary apart and the Patriots went on to win it all.  It’s why Ravens fans have been going crazy this offseason, calling for the team to spend a high draft pick on the position, or at least sign a big name free agent.

But neither, as it turned out, actually happened.  The Ravens ignored the free agent market (at least for now), and waited until the fourth round to select a corner in the draft.  It’s a huge leap of faith and, if nothing else, a sign that the team is confident in Smith’s return to health and Lardarius Webb’s return to form. They better hope so, at least.

So while the Ravens might still add a guy or two once cuts begin, these are the guys who are going to be trusted with holding down the defensive backfield this coming season.  Let’s take a look at the current 2015 Baltimore Ravens roster  at the cornerback position.
