Whether you agree or disagree that the Ravens’ defensive front will be better off without franchise stalwart Haloti Ngata, it’s hard to argue with the idea that the front line of their defense is still among the NFL’s best.
With a nice mix of proven veterans and rising young stars, this d-line promises to wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks and offensive lines in 2015 once again.
The emergence of Brandon Williams at the nose and Timmy Jernigan at tackle was enough for the Ravens to scoff at Ngata’s massive cap number and extension demands, instead shipping him off to the Lions for a pair of draft picks.
But behind those youngsters is a mix of veterans, rookies, and proven commodities that promises to keep things together in the first year the Ravens have played without Ngata on their roster since 2005.
So will this strong positional unit continue it’s traditionally dominant play sans one of the best players in franchise history? Will the youngsters step up and continue what has been an annual tradition of excellence in the trenches?
Let’s take a look at the 2015 Baltimore Ravens roster break down of defensive linemen and make some predictions.
