Reason #1 – Breshad Perriman is the best wide receiver prospect the Baltimore Ravens have ever had.
The Ravens have never had a receiver on their roster with the measurables, athleticism, and upside that first round pick Breshad Perriman brings to the table. Torrey Smith came close, but ultimately never developed into the number one guy this team has, quite frankly, never had.
Whether or not Perriman becomes that guy is a question yet to be answered, but Joe Flacco and company are excited about his potential. Perriman didn’t drop a single pass at OTAs after whiffing on eight last season, and appears to be as advertised in the speed/catch radius/explosion categories.
So while the 49ers paid Torrey big bucks to come in and stretch the field, the Ravens used a draft choice to replace him with a player who has more natural talent, and at a much cheaper price. If you are a Ravens fan and you aren’t giddy about this kid’s potential, well, you should be.
