Owen Daniels: 832 snaps in 2014, 48 receptions for 527 yards and 4 touchdowns

A Gary Kubiak guy through and through, it was no surprise that Daniels followed him to Denver after a one year stop in Baltimore.  Daniels was thrust into a bigger than expected role last season after Dennis Pitta went down and 2014 third round draft pick Crockett Gillmore failed to impress.

Daniels played virtually every snap, even more than Torrey Smith.  He was a reliable but unexciting option underneath for Joe Flacco, which is an important part of the offense despite the meager stats.

Who might replace his production?

The Ravens attacked the tight end position via the draft by selecting Maxx Williams in the second round and Nick Boyle in the fifth.  The assumption is that Williams will start if Dennis Pitta is unable to continue his career, but we can’t count out Crockett Gillmore at this point either.

Boyle profiles as more of a blocking tight end but has passing game chops as well.  This one is a real toss up that may not gain clarity until the preseason.
