The Browns lost more talent to free agency than any other AFC North team with the exception of the Ravens. The question is, did they effectively fill those holes? With Johnny Manziel’s continued inability to resemble an NFL quality quarterback, is Josh McCown the answer? I would argue that he is a downgrade on Hoyer.
Losing offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is a blow as well for what proved to be an effective running game last season. The Browns still have a trio of young talented running backs and have upgraded at wide receiver, but that isn’t saying much after last year’s debacle.
Even though the Browns turned out to be a feisty team under Mike Pettine last year, it’s going to be an uphill battle for them in 2015 if they hope to compete with the rest of the North.
