We forgive you if you don’t consider the Ravens to be a fantasy football powerhouse, so to speak. Joe Flacco doesn’t put up the flashy numbers of an Aaron Rogers or Drew Brees, and no pass catcher was really better than a WR2/3 last season. And we won’t even talk about 2013’s dud of an offense.
But that doesn’t mean there isn’t some potential value on this roster for the savvy fantasy player. For example, did you know that the Ravens ranked 12th in total offense in 2014, higher than teams like the Chargers and Lions? They were also 9th in yards per play, 8th in rushing offense, and 13th in passing offense.
The Ravens also return one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, completely intact from last season. Justin Forsett is back, as is the ageless Steve Smith and exciting rookie Breshad Perriman. And even though last year’s offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak is gone, he has been replaced by fellow quarterback whisperer Marc Trestman.
So while the other guys in your league sleep on Ravens players (including maybe the defense), you can find some great value in selecting some of these guys in later rounds. Let’s take a look at each unit and what you can expect from them in 2015.
