As we wrap up the first week of Baltimore Ravens training camp, there are lots of topics to discuss. Outside of surprisingly good performances from guys like Buck Allen and Darren Waller, Kamar Aiken continues to use the injury woes of Breshad Perriman to solidify his spot on the depth chart.

Some good news on the injury front comes in the form of Elvis Dumervil, who returned to the practice field Wednesday following a bout with tendinitis.  Also emerging in practice with impressive performances were safety Will Hill and defensive end Brent Urban, who figures to work his way into defensive line rotation.

One player not living up to expectations is backup quarterback Matt Schaub, who is continuing his turnover laden ways despite his familiarity with the Ravens’ west coast offense.  I was admittedly a little worried by his signing and those fears seem to be coming to fruition on the practice field.

Joe Flacco, however, doesn’t seem to mind the fourth straight year of a revolving door at the offensive coordinator position as he continues to look good in practice.  If nothing else, it’s proven to be an interesting learning experience for the veteran quarterback.

The Ravens don’t seem to be in the market for a safety to replace the injured Matt Elam (yet), but CBS’ Jason La Canfora named the Chiefs as a potential trade partner if they do seek outside help.  The Chiefs are stacked at the position after the surprisingly early return of Eric Berry.

In other news, the Ravens waived defensive tackle Casey Walker and replaced him with another DT – former Michigan State product Micajah Reynolds, who spent time in Dolphins’ camp last year.  Walker had just made his training camp debut Monday night after missing four practices with a knee injury.
