After a long summer and winding offseason, we’ve finally reached the cusp of actual football.  Well, preseason football anyway.  Regardless, it’s going to be great to see the Baltimore Ravens finally take the field in an organized fashion Thursday night, even if it doesn’t count.

Obviously, speculation season is in full swing, even if the regular season is not.  While most take a rose colored glass view of the Ravens’ prospects for 2015, the latest win/loss prediction from Bleacher Report is getting a little pessimistic.  I’ll let you check it out and be the judge.

One player that you probably won’t see on the field Thursday night is prize rookie and first round draft choice Breshad Perriman.  Though John Harbaugh refused to rule Perriman out just yet, the wide receiver has missed over a week of practice with a bruised knee.

You won’t see tight end Dennis Pitta out there either, as he currently resides on the PUP list.  And unfortunately, Joe Flacco has gotten used to playing without his good friend, as he admits in his own words.

One thing that might be worth watching over the next few weeks is the open competition for the kick and punt returner job.  The Ravens have a strong history of excellent special teams play, so they hope to continue that tradition by replacing Jacoby Jones with an equally effective returner.
