Stock up: Cassius Vaughn
Perhaps the most underrated Ravens signing of the offseason, Vaughn held his own in his debut against the Saints. Vaughn graded out as the Ravens’ best cornerback in coverage, giving up 2 receptions on 4 targets for a mere 13 yards. He added one pass defensed, allowing only a 57.3 passer rating.
On a night when most of the other cornerbacks struggled, it’s an encouraging development for the Ravens, who desperately need solid depth at the position. The only other two cornerbacks to post a positive performance Thursday night were Kyle Arrington and Tramain Jacobs.
It’s early, but I like Vaughn’s chances of sticking on the final roster. He’s more proven and steady than guys like Brynden Trawick and Jacobs, even if his play isn’t spectacular.
