One thing’s for sure – we always get some surprises in every NFL preseason. If you had tried to guess what players would be standing out right now, as we head into the second week, it’s doubtful anybody would have guessed correctly.
Not too many folks had high expectations for this year’s sixth round draft choice, wide receiver Darren Waller. A guy with difference making size and speed, Waller simply didn’t play in a pro style offense at Georgia Tech.
But Waller is catching on a lot quicker than anyone anticipated, along with fellow rookie Nick Boyle. Both have been consistently making noise this offseason, and both continued to do so as the Ravens broke their first joint practices with the Eagles.
Another player standing out is cornerback Rashaan Melvin, who played well in spots last season amid the Ravens’ injury meltdown. Melvin is building on that performance and looks to be a great depth piece for the coming season.
Here’s all the latest noise surrounding the Ravens.
