Which version of Arthur Brown will show up?
Former first round draft pick, inside linebacker Arthur Brown, has been an unmitigated bust to this point in his career. It’s at least part of the reason why he saw so much playing time against the Saints.
The Ravens know they need to make a decision on the young man and they’re going to give him a long look in the preseason.
Surprisingly, Brown performed rather well last week. He played 21 snaps and led the team in tackles with 6, including one for a loss. He held up well against the run, but gave up 2 receptions in coverage for 33 yards.
Can Brown build on that performance over the next few weeks and buy himself a roster spot for at least one more season? He still has a long way to go, as fellow inside ‘backers Zach Orr and Albert McClellan are near roster locks thanks to their stand out special teams play.
Brown will need to continue to improve and prove that the Ravens didn’t make a huge mistake when they used a first round draft pick on him.
