The ‘is Joe Flacco an elite quarterback’ debate will probably never end.  It’s been going on for years, and at this point looks almost certain to continue to rage on for at least a few more.  One person that does hold Flacco in that regard, however, is Eagles’ head coach Chip Kelly.

During this week’s joint practices between the Eagles and Ravens, Kelly has gotten an up close look at Flacco’s talent.  And he made no bones about it, telling the press that Flacco is indeed elite, pointing to his decision making and clutch ability as some of the reasoning behind his opinion.

Flacco’s current contract was once a hotly debated topic as well, with most feeling like the QB was overpaid despite leading the Ravens to a Super Bowl title prior to signing on the dotted line.  But with QB salaries rising at a ridiculous rate, it looks like Flacco is in prime position for a raise.

With a $28.55 million dollar cap figure coming in 2016, the Ravens have all intentions of negotiating a redo.  Both sides have already acknowledged that they intend to get together next offseason.  The longer they wait, the higher his price tag figures to be.
