Aug 13, 2015; Baltimore, MD, USA; New Orleans Saints quarterback Luke McCown (7) prepares to throw the ball in front of Baltimore Ravens cornerback Rashaan Melvin (38) during the second quarter in a preseason NFL football game at M&T Bank Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Amber Searls-USA TODAY Sports
Cornerbacks (6)
In: Jimmy Smith, Lardarius Webb, Kyle Arrington, Rashaan Melvin, Tray Walker, Cassius Vaughn
Out: Asa Jackson, Quinton Porter
I’m still a little surprised that mostly everyone is projecting Vaughn to be cut, even though he has been the Ravens’ best corner this preseason. He has outplayed Melvin by a long shot, for example.
Walker has been pretty dreadful but is safe as a fourth round pick. Jackson’s writing appears to be on the wall unless the Ravens want to keep him as the returner. His play on defense continues to be downright terrible.
After keeping 5 corners last year and paying the price, I am relatively confident the Ravens won’t make the same mistake again.
