Stock up: Javorius “Buck” Allen
Justin Forsett had his second consecutive impressive performance this week, tallying 170 total yards and a touchdown against the Browns. Unfortunately, he also left the game with an ankle injury. And even before he left, rookie Buck Allen was getting some play as a breather back and goal line specialist.

Allen, who had been thoroughly unimpressive before Sunday, received 8 carries and turned them into 58 yards (7.2 avg) mostly thanks to a nice 44 yard scamper. That alone deserves a little skepticism, as does the fact that he did it against a dreadful run defense.
But with Lorenzo Taliaferro still battling an injury himself, Allen might find himself thrust into a starting role, depending on the severity of Forsett’s ankle injury. Which means that he could have a nice opportunity to prove himself against a soft 49ers defense next week.
Allen hasn’t shown that he can handle a full load yet, of course, but sometimes opportunity is all you need in the NFL.
