Ravens Re-Sign Morgan Cox and Shareece Wright
If you were looking for someone to complain about the three-year deal for Shareece Wright, this is not the post for you. I’m on board with the five-year deal for long snapper Morgan Cox too. The Ravens signed two small names who they value a lot. There is nothing wrong with that.

Neither of these players is breaking the bank, so let’s get that out of the way. Morgan Cox is a good long snapper. It is important to have a good player at this position; a fact fans forget until a bad snap gets the punter clobbered. The Ravens paid their Pro Bowl long snapper like a Pro Bowl long snapper.
When the Ravens first acquired Wright, I was skeptical. When he got burnt in the beginning I hailed him as the worst player I’ve ever seen. Then something happened. He got better and began to play with confidence.
The Ravens are short when it comes to talent in the secondary. They made a commitment to a player who showed that he is teachable, a player that is growing. Wright probably won’t be a star. That being said, he isn’t being paid like one. If the Ravens didn’t bring him back they’d have one more spot to fill in the secondary.
So this news is news but it’s nothing to get up in arms about. This is what the Ravens do. They sign their own players. They value players they know and they reward their players for their progression. These moves are not hindering the team from signing free agents, they were already going to have trouble there.
