The Ravens are actually quite an attractive organization for free agents. The Ravens are typically quiet in the Free Agency waters, but that is by design. The Ravens have the intangible things that make all the difference.

First of all the Ravens are led by quality people. From the self-made Baltimorean owner Steve Bisciotti, all the way down, the Ravens are good people. Ozzie Newsome is a hall of fame tight end, and a legendary general manager but he is also a hall of fame person, in my book.

Eric DeCosta has shown the Ravens a lot of loyalty, with other team trying to snag him out of Baltimore. John Harbaugh is as passionate and energetic as any man on earth (including his brother). The Ravens organization has a foundation of strong and respected leaders of the football world.

The media tried to paint a negative brush on the Ravens after the Ray Rice situation. The problem is there was no manual on how to deal with the PR tsunami that was. Please note that the Ravens never condoned the actions of Rice. That was a situation where no outcome could make the Ravens look anything but horrible. It did not delete the Ravens history of setting an example for the rest of the NFL.

The Ravens know how to take care of their players. “The Castle” in Owings Mills is a luxurious facility. The Ravens give their players top of the line everything. After being fined for watching his daughter perform at halftime, by the Chargers, being treated right will be a nice change for Weddle.

The Ravens also provide Weddle with a chance to win. The Ravens have a proven franchise quarterback and head coach. The Ravens have won a playoff game in six out of the last eight seasons. Plus it is hard to bet against a team that has won two Super Bowls in just 20 years.
