Boulware made an instant impact on the Ravens. In his rookie season he had 11.5 sacks. It was one of three seasons where he had 10 sacks or more. The peak of Boulware’s storied career was in 2001, when he totaled 15 sacks. Boulware was a constant rock for the Ravens defense until 2003. If it weren’t for injuries that began to trouble him in 2004, he might have put up historically great numbers.

Peter Boulware is a member of the Ravens ring of honor at M&T Bank Stadium. Boulware’s legacy is intertwined with the early years of Ravens football. He is one of the players that set the example. Boulware was a part of the first great Ravens teams, and he gave everything he had to the organization.

That’s really what I remember most about Peter Boulware. He was almost impossible to block, because he never stopped coming. Every time he chased a running back or got to the quarterback, he did it at full speed. We often talk about the will power and tenacity of Ray Lewis. We should remember that Lewis wasn’t the only one with those traits, on that defense. Boulware was tough, relentless and had a great work ethic.

According to his Wikipedia page, he is the vice president of a Toyota dealership now. Though he would probably tell you that his most important job is being a father to five kids, and a husband. It isn’t surprising that Boulware is doing well off the field. He was always a level headed man who was intelligent and had a great personality. One thing is for sure, Boulware was an easy guy to root for, when he rocked Ravens purple.
