Ravens Need Wide Receiver Of The Future
The Baltimore Ravens receiving corps is pretty much set in place for next season. Steve Smith Sr. is going to be Joe Flacco’s go-to target. Kamar Aiken is a solid number two. Mike Wallace gives them some speed. Breshad Perriman could give the Ravens more speed.

The Ravens have the position figured out in the short-term. However after 2016, it could be a different story. This is presumably the final season of Agent 89’s career. Mike Wallace is getting up there, and the NFL shelf life seems to be getting shorter. We’ll find out if Perriman is a long-term star or a short-lived draft bust.
The Ravens can very much justify drafting a wide receiver with one of their first few picks. There is no such thing as too many playmakers. Draft picks are as much for the future as they are for he present.
If the Ravens trade out of the sixth pick, Laqoun Treadwell, Josh Doctson and Corey Coleman could end up being options for Baltimore. Treadwell and Doctson in particular are big receivers that can go up and get the football. The Anquan Boldin void could be filled with either player. Joe Flacco would be a real fan of this type of pick.
The Ravens haven’t ever had a dominant receiver. They never had a young superstar that changed the entire scope of what their offense could accomplish. It would be nice to give Flacco a Julio Jones or and Odell Beckham like talent. Laquon Treadwell would be a superstar for the Ravens. He is a name the Ravens at least have to think about.

The Ravens are comfortable at wide receiver. Their main group is well in tact. They don’t have a desperate need for a wide receiver. Drafting a star receiver would behoove the team though. With the position looking like it will be bleak next offseason, wide receiver is still a draft option for the Ravens.
