Reaction To Ravens Pre-Season Schedule

The Ravens Pre-Season Schedule Is Out

The first thing we have to remember is that the Pre-Season schedule isn’t a huge deal. We’re already starving for Ravens football, so any news seems like big news. The Pre-Season is important. It is important for the players who need it to show they belong on the roster. It is important to get live game action, before the season starts. Ideally its about working out a couple of kinks and keeping the team healthy. While I don’t think who the Ravens play in the four exhibition games matter, here is a look at their Pre-Season Schedule.

Preseason Schedule:

Week 1: Carolina Panthers

There are two exciting moments in the exhibition games. The first game is exciting, because we are welcoming football back into our lives. We want to see a good quick start by the first team. Then the backups own the day. The Carolina Panthers are an interesting draw here. They were one victory shy of winning it all in 2015. It should be a good test for the Ravens defense to see if they can quickly shut down Cam Newton. I like that the Pre-Season begins at home for the Ravens. I feel like it makes the first week a little easier for the younger players.

Week 2: @ Indianapolis Colts

Lucas Oil Stadium has always been a house of horrors for the Ravens. I just hope nothing bad happens, like an injury to a key player. It is so rare that the Ravens go into that building and walk away with a smile. So while the win may be meaningless in the grand scheme of things, it would be nice to have one here. The Ravens will meet up with their former defensive coordinator, Chuck Pagano, who is now the head coach in Indianapolis.

Week 3: Detroit Lions

This is the second exciting moment in the Pre-Season action. The third game acts as the dress rehearsal for the starters. This game features the starters for the first half and into the second half. The Ravens will have to stop Matthew Stafford, who is a QB that can put up some big numbers. Offensively this will be a challenge. The Lions defense can be rather stingy and it is coached by a familiar face, Teryl Austin. The Ravens won the Super Bowl in 2012 when Jim Caldwell took over the offensive coordinator duties. Now Caldwell is the head coach of the Lions. This makes it an interesting battle.

Week 4: New Orleans Saints

Don’t expect to see Drew Brees or Joe Flacco in this one. This is the most boring moment in the Pre-Season. This game is for the players who still need to make the team. I guess you can call it, the Back Up Bowl.
