Ravens Season Opener Against Familiar Faces
Ed Reed was one of the greatest players the Ravens ever knew. He is now the defensive backs coach for the Buffalo Bills. Rex Ryan was arguably the best Ravens defensive coordinator of all time (and that is an impressive group of coaches), now he is the head coach of the Bills. Tyrod Taylor was the Ravens back up quarterback for 5 years. Now he leads the Bills as their quarterback.

The Baltimore Ravens will host these familiar faces in week one. The showdown between the Bills and the Ravens has an undeniably interesting reunion angle. Ryan and company will have extra motivation to beat the Ravens. Being the head coach of the Ravens was his dream job, but John Harbaugh got the job. The Ravens beat Ryan and his New York Jets to open the 2010 season. The Ravens beat Ryan’s Jets in 2011 as well.
Tyrod Taylor will be motivated to show the Ravens he is a starting quarterback that can win in the NFL. The Bills will have plenty of motivation.
The Ravens probably won’t care at all about this storyline. Most of the players on the Ravens defense never were coached by Ryan. Reed is a Ravens legend but he is the defensive backs coach, it’s not like they’re playing against him. The Ravens need to start the season strong; that’s all that matters here.
For fans, this is going to be a lot of fun. Reed will always have love in Ravens Nation. Ryan will always be somebody that I pull for. I’m sure there are a lot of Ravens fans that feel the same way. For the actual Ravens, this is all about starting off 1-0.

The Ravens are a hungry team. They will be desperate to show that 2015’s struggles are behind them. They will be desperate to get back to winning. It will be a lot of fun, but this is all business for the Ravens.
