If you told me a couple months ago that the Baltimore Ravens would have a chance to draft Jalen Ramsey, I would be amazed. Now that we know that two quarterbacks will go in the beginning of the draft, Ramsey to Baltimore isn’t an unrealistic possibility. If the Ravens are given the chance to draft Ramsey, they cannot pass it up.

Ramsey is the number one player on my big board. He is versatile enough to play free safety or cornerback. He is an incredible athlete who has a high football IQ and some pretty compelling tape. Ramsey is unbelievably good and the Ravens have an unbelievable need in the secondary. This is the no brainer pick of the year.

The Ravens biggest weakness is still the cornerback position. The Ravens don’t have a player that realistically is a great option opposite of Jimmy Smith. They need a player who can come in and be a game changer right away. Ramsey very well could be that player.

Imagine the combination of Smith and Ramsey. When Smith plays well, he can go toe to toe with any receiver in football. Ramsey has the potential to become even better than Smith. If the Ravens have two cornerbacks on the outside that can shut down an entire side of the field, the entire defense will be better.

Imagine this secondary: Ladarius Webb at Free Safety, Eric Weddle at Strong Safety, Smith and Ramsey on the outside with Shareece Wright as the nickel corner. That would be a formidable back-end of the defense. The Ravens could play more aggressively on defense with a secondary as strong as that; so by drafting Ramsey the Raven could be killing two birds with one stone.

The Ravens have a ton of options to fix the defense in this draft. Pass rushers like Kevin Dodd and maybe even Noah Spence will be there in round two. The Ravens have no need greater than the cornerback position. If Jalen Ramsey is available with the sixth overall pick, there is no excuse not to draft him.
