Kenneth Dixon Is A Potential Star

Kenneth Dixon is a playmaker at the running back position. With speed, agility and elusiveness, Dixon could become an important member of the Baltimore Ravens offense. Dixon certainly was an important piece in Louisiana Tech’s offense.

The Ravens drafted Dixon in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. It is quite arguable, that Ozzie Newsome added another steal to his draft resume, with this pick. Dixon fits perfectly into the Ravens zone blocking scheme. He is a downhill runner with good vision and he can always make something out of nothing.

Dixon was very productive in his College Football career. In 2015, Dixon averaged 5.4 yards per carry. He ran for 1,073 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also had 33 receptions for over 400 yards and seven touchdowns. Dixon rushed for 1,000 yards in three out of four seasons. He had back to back seasons with 30 receptions.

When the Ravens drafted Dixon, Trent Richardson’s chances of making the roster were shot down considerably. Dixon has the same explosive ability but his potential is so much higher than the former Alabama running back. Dixon actually has superior vision. Dixon is a natural and instinctive runner, Richardson isn’t.

Dixon fits so well into the offense that he may have a major role in the offense. While Justin Forsett is the presumptive starter, the Ravens will be crazy not to get Dixon the ball in the open field. Dixon has big play potential. Dixon ran a 4.58 second 40 yard dash at the combine, he’s got plenty of speed.

Another thing that behooves Dixon is his low center of gravity and incredible balance. He may not look imposing at 5’10” and 215 pounds, but linebackers have to crush him to tackle him. Dixon is too strong and too athletic to be taken down by arm tackles.
