The Baltimore Ravens have gotten some practice time in, and that includes Breshad Perriman. Based on the reports in the last couple days, it sounds like he is looking good. Can Perriman become the star the Ravens drafted him to be?

The Situation
With the 27th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Ravens selected Perriman. The UCF receiver was supposed to add a deep threat to the offense. Instead a knee injury sidelined him his entire rookie season. Going into 2016, his quasi rookie season, nobody knows what to expect.
The Best Case Scenario
The best case scenario sees Perriman staying healthy in 2016. If Perriman can stay on the field he can make an impact. We’re talking about a receiver with blazing speed and a big frame. Perriman was a big play waiting to happen at UCF. In the best case scenario that translates to the football field.
The Ravens added Mike Wallace to the offense as well. If Perriman shines Baltimore will have two of the fastest receivers in football. Imagine if Perriman does well and Wallace has a bounce back year. The Ravens offense would be a bog play machine.

In the worst case scenario, Perriman’s injuries are a chronic problem. In the much less than perfect world, whatever Perriman gives the Ravens will be rusty. In this scenario, Wallace becomes the Perriman insurance policy. Instead of having two burner receivers, the Ravens have one true deep threat.
Most Likely Scenario
In reality, a blend of the best and worst possibilities is what you get. With that in mind, Perriman may be rusty but he will be a somewhat productive player.
Torrey Smith’s rookie season should be used as a goal for Perriman to match. Smith had 50 receptions, 841 yards and 7 touchdowns to start his career. If Perriman even comes close to that kind of production, the Ravens offense will be hard to stop.

While we don’t know what will happen, we know that Perriman has the talent to be a star. We have no reason to assume the injury bug will stay with him. He should have an okay season, that points towards a bright future. All we can do is cross our fingers and hope for the best.
