Ravens Get Back To Dominant Ground Attack

Last season it felt like Marc Trestman had it backwards. For Trestman everything starts with the pass. For the Ravens everything starts with the running game. I have a hunch that coach Harbaugh noticed that too. Expect the Ravens to get back to what works, the run game setting up the magic in the passing game. It is the way the Ravens have always been built.

Big plays in the running game break the will of your opponent. When Forsett was cranking out 20 yard rushes in 2014, it changed the game. How many times did Ray Rice and Jamal Lewis change the course of Ravens history with powerful runs? To steal a line from Wedding Crashers “Crab Cakes and football. That’s what Maryland does;” and running the football relentlessly is what the Ravens do.

As I mentioned before, the Ravens could have a dominant offensive line if Ronnie Stanley is the real deal. We know the Ravens have great running back options. Justin Forsett is a natural fit for the Ravens offense. Kenneth Dixon shows great potential and Buck Allen has big play potential. The scary thing, is that’s just three of the Ravens running backs to choose from.
