1. Is There A Rhyme Or Reason To Marc Trestman’s Attack?
I’m a big proponent of utilizing the short passing game as an element in the offense. Making defenses defend the width of the field by spreading the ball around with dinks and dunks has some value. However even in the west coast offense, the dinks and dunks are supposed to lead to chunks of yards. Little plays set up big plays, but a lack of big plays suffocates a small ball offense. Have you noticed that Trestman does the same thing over and over?
Trestman would see exponential rewards to letting Joe Flacco attack down the field. Steve Smith showed us that he can get separation. Breshad Perriman is impressing. Chris Moore has the ability to burn anyone and Mike Wallace has big play written all over him. The lack of weapons excuse does not fly or apply here.
