For the Baltimore Ravens, a fourth straight loss would simply be unacceptable:

There is no way around it. Sundays battle against the New York Jets is a must win game for the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens have lost three straight games. Unbelievably, the purple and black are just a game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North. Baltimore has a chance to rebound and get on the track to the playoffs. However, they have to start playing playoff football and they have to do it now.

The Ravens don’t have to win every game from here on out. That’s a very unlikely ask. They sit at 3-3. They need to get at least 10 wins to have a comfortable shot at the playoffs. The Ravens have 10 games left. They need to win seven of them. No game seems more like an easy win than a fight with the 1-5 Jets. The Ravens cannot continue to lose games that they should easily win.

The Ravens are set up for a good situation. The Steelers are about to play the Patriots without Ben Roethlisberger. Both the Ravens and the Steelers have a week 8 bye week. Then the two AFC North rivals square off. The Steelers than have to go against the Dallas Cowboys. With or without their star quarterback, that’s a tough game. The possibility of a four game losing streak for the Steelers isn’t out of the question.

None of these hypothetical matter if the Ravens don’t get their act together. A fourth straight loss would mean that the Ravens would go into the bye week with zero confidence and no momentum. It seems like this is a fork in the road. Either the Ravens turn things around or they keep going down the wrong path.

The Bottom Line:

The Ravens have to win. This is the schedule throwing the Ravens a break. They have an easy game against a team that cannot get out of their own way. The Ravens have a week to decompress and refuel and then a home game against the Steelers. This could be the stretch that turns the Ravens season around.

If the Ravens lose on Sunday it would be horribly unforgivable. The blood boiling frustration will be all for nothing if the Ravens lose against the Jets. When you can’t beat bad teams, you’re a bad team. When you stop and look at the AFC North, it’s there for the taking. That is almost miraculous. After a three game losing streak, somehow the Ravens are right on schedule and in the mix.

From the start of the season until now, we’ve been looking for this team to take a step forward. Instead they have been taking steps back. It really feels like the Ravens are their own worst enemy. Last week the Ravens lost to a team that was really struggling. The Ravens got off to a 10 point lead and they could have made it easy; but the Ravens only do things the hard way. That’s the only thing we’re asking for here; we just want the Ravens to make this as easy as it should be.
