Top 5 Baltimore Ravens Who Don’t Deserve Blame
2. Terrell Suggs
Age is finally catching up with the 34 year old Suggs, but he still goes out and leads his team into battle. He not chase as many guys down to make the tackle, but he still can get after the quarterback. In six games, Suggs sacked the quarterback five times and recorded five additional hurries.
Suggs’ legacy as a Raven cemented itself several years ago, but his Hall of Fame credentials fall a little short. Finishing this season with a strong win/loss record while getting at least close to double digit sacks will go a long way with voters when the time comes.
His career stats get him very close to Canton. He was the Defensive Rookie of the Year (2003), the AP Defensive Player of the Year (2011), and totaled 111.5 sacks so far. Times running out for Suggs if he wants to add to his achievements.
Besides continuing to terrorize quarterbacks, Suggs can help coach up the young linebackers coming up in the organization. Kamalei Correa and Matt Judon could benefit from the wisdom of a dominant pass rusher like Suggs. When Suggs retires, these guys will lead the team into the future with his imprint on them.
