The Ravens Big 3 Free Agents

  1. Rick Wagner: Wagner was the Ravens fifth round pick in 2013. In 2014 he became the Ravens right tackle and has done a solid job. Wagner is going to get good money this offseason. The question becomes, will the Ravens invest in a right tackle? Wagner is a great run blocker but he struggles with speed off the edge and he isn’t ever a good fit at left tackle.
  2. Brandon Williams: When it comes to stuffing the run, there really isn’t a better option than Williams at the nose tackle position. Williams is the anchor of the defense and is one of the best nose guards in football. It will be interesting to see what happens with Williams. The Ravens have plenty of talent on the defensive line, but he is not a player the Ravens want to lose.
  3. Kyle Juszczyk: Juszczyk is the best fullback in the NFL. He is a versatile weapon who makes plays in the passing game. He also does the traditional fullback jobs like being a lead blocker. Juszczyk is going to see a nice pay day, but he is a fullback so it won’t be an exorbident deal hopefully.

The Other Guys:

  1. Lawrence Guy: This is a really underrated Ravens free agent. Guy doesn’t make a ton of big plays but he holds his ground in the trenches and is a good run defender. Guy is a solid player that shouldn’t cost a lot to bring back.
  2. Jerraud Powers: Sometimes, players are available for a reason. The Ravens signed Powers last offseason and found that out the hard way. Powers was underwhelming and did not add much to the secondary,
  3. Anthony Levine: I was surprised that Levine didn’t have a bigger role in 2016. He is a jack of all trades, who can do it all in the secondary.
  4. Kamar Aiken: Aiken went into the 2016 season as a guy who was supposed to take the next step. After a 2015 season with 75 receptions, Aiken essentially dissapeared this season.
  5. Matt Elam: Matt Elam may be the biggest bust in Ravens draft history. After his arrest it is a lock that he will not be back on the team.
  6. Vlad Ducasse: Ducasse is a not that bad, not that great kind of player. He gives the Ravens a veteran option at guard. Hopefully he isn’t needed to be a starter.
  7. Ryan Mallet: Ryan Mallet is a back up quarterback that can come in and do okay. Mallet is the prototypical backup. Good enough to give a few good games, not good enough to be the starter.
