Expect The Baltimore Ravens To Target Veteran Free Agents
By Joe Schiller
Potential Lineman Targets
Nick Mangold- Mangold is the only one on this list to visit the Ravens this offseason. With that being said, he did not leave with a deal. This could be for many reasons. The team might have wanted to see his health situation, since he has dealt with injuries the past few seasons. There is a lot that goes behind that scenes that we never know about. Adding Mangold could very well be like what the Ravens did with Matt Birk. He was a major piece in leading them to a Super Bowl.
Ryan Clady- After spending the first eight years of his career with the Denver Broncos, Ryan Clady was traded to the New York Jets in 2016. He was placed on injured reserve in the middle of the season and missed the remainder of the season. This offseason, the Jets declined Clady’s $10 million option, making him a free agent. Clady is defeinitlky an option, but I don’t see it happening here. He has dealt with too many injuries in the past and I don’t see him worth being the money.
King Dunlap- After signing Eric Weddle and Danny Woodhead, the Ravens are becoming the east coast Chargers. They did not draft a true tackle with this draft class. Siragusa is more of an inside player and Eluemunor will most likely need a couple years to develop. The other options on the roster are not the most convincing either. Dunlap signed a four year deal with the Chargers in 2015, but was released this offseason.

The Bottom Line
The common theme here is the health. Most of the targets listed have had health issues of lately. That is why they are still unemployed. Yes the Ravens still have holes to fill, but that does not mean that they should be desperate.
