Ricky Ortiz, FB-TE, Oregon State

The start of NFL free agency has seemed like forever ago, but Ravens fans clearly remember losing out on Kyle Juszczyk. The fullback was a Swiss Army Knife kind of player for the offense during his time in Baltimore. He did everything from blocking, catching passes and running the ball. His play earned him a fat contract with the San Francisco 49ers. Now the Ravens are left with the task of finding his replacement.

With Nick Boyle and Lorenzo Taliaferro as options on the roster, the Ravens decided to bring in another guy to compete for the spot. Ortiz switched between tight-end and fullback during his time at Oregon State. Watching his highlights, he was used very similar to Juszczyk. He played on special teams, offense and even defense. This kind of versatility makes him a very intriguing prospect. Even if he doesn’t pan out at tight-end, he could be used on special teams. Having those valuable special teams guys is very important.
