The Key: Staying Healthy

While it seems like the offensive line is coming together, I still am a bit worried because of injuries.  When the offensive line is out of sync, the whole offense is out of sync. And for the Ravens, the whole offense struggled last season. The run game was virtually non-existent the pass game was more than inconsistent.

We know the Raven’s offense is at their best when they are running the ball. The ground and pound game sets up the play action pass for Joe Flacco. Flacco cannot produce if he does not have time to stand in the pocket. He is also not too long off of a major knee surgery at the age of 31. Protecting the franchise quarterback has to be one of the main priorities.

The key for this offensive line this year is to stay healthy. They have the potential to be very solid group, but only if they are able to stay healthy. I know it’s inevitable and things happen, but they must try to avoid as many big injuries as they can. Losing a starter for more than 1-2 games could be the difference in their season.
