Reason 2: Speed Kills. Fresh Legs Win:

The Ravens defense will have a lot of speed on the field, no matter what package they are in. Their base defense is going to be beastly. Their sub packages are going to be plentiful and productive. The idea of having Weddle, Jefferson, Smith, Carr, Humphrey and Young on the field at the same time is exciting. The Ravens have multiple options for their nickel cornerback, which means going to a dime look won’t be difficult.

When you go up against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, you need all the defensive backs you can get. When Ben Roethlisberger starts slinging the football, you’re going to need plenty of speed on the field to chase Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant and now JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Power And Speed…Yes!

Now you’re probably thinking, Chris, with all that speed how do they stop LeVeon Bell? Well the Ravens sub packages are going to be a perfect blend of power and the extra speed. When the Ravens have five defensive backs they’ll have their three linemen and three linebackers. This means Brandon Williams, Chris Wormley, Bronson Kaufusi. There is still a lot of power in that set. If the Ravens go to a dime look, with six defensive backs, they just take out one of the big guys.

The Ravens are going to go up against teams with a lot of weapons. The ability to almost use sub packages as the base defense is going to be huge. The Ravens will be able to have a nice rotation of players throughout the entire game. Speed is one of the most important things a defense can have, and the Ravens have a ton of it. They’ll use rotation to keep players fresh for a full game. The Ravens defense won’t get worn out and tired in 2017.
