2. Brandon Williams:

There is no better space eater in the NFL than Brandon Williams. Williams was just made the highest paid nose guard in football. He is an immovable object in the trenches that does the dirty work for the Ravens defense. Williams does the kind of thing that doesn’t always show up in the stat sheet. Well it kind of does, in the form of his teammates making tackles. Zach Orr had the ninth most tackles in the league, and C.J. Mosley was voted to the Pro Bowl. Orr and Mosley are great players. Williams made them even better.

Williams is quite literally, a huge presence. He’s a 6’1″ 334 pound man. More often than not, he wins the battle at the line of scrimmage. He may not be a great pass rusher, but he pushes the pocket back and he can tip passes with his excellent game awareness. Williams was one of the key cogs to a top 10 defense in 2016. He makes a lot possible for the Ravens defense.

Williams isn’t a flashy player. He is however a great player. Williams is the anchor of the Ravens defense. The Ravens may have added a lot to the defense this offseason, but keeping Williams may have been the most important move they made.
