Chris Matthews

Matthews is best known for his Super Bowl performance with the Seahawks back in 2015. He went from working at Foot Locker earlier that season to being the leading receiver in the Super Bowl. The following November he was released and signed on to the Ravens practice squad. We didn’t get to see anything of Matthews last year because he spent the whole season on injured reserve. Now he is healthy and I think he could be a legitimate option for the offense this season.

Without a veteran like Anquan Boldin, the offense needs a receiver that can play the sticks and get crucial first downs. The closest thing to that right now is Dennis Pitta. This is where Matthews comes in. He is the kind of big body receiver is much needed. With a 6″5′ frame, he can go up in traffic and get the 50/50 balls. I think he could prove to be a hidden gem that no one is really looking at.
