The Bottom Line:

On the surface, Kamalei Correa might have been over drafted. He isn’t big enough to be a full time edge rusher, but isn’t fluid enough to drop into coverage as an every down linebacker. Best case scenario: He comes in on third down and obvious passing situations and gets to the quarterback.

Now, there is nothing wrong with that. Fans should be excited if Correa grabbed anywhere between four-to-seven sacks this season. Unfortunately, that’s not what this article is about.

This article is asking who will be the most likely to replace Zachary Orr at inside linebacker. The answer is Tyus Bowser.

Bowser’s twitchy and overall the better athlete, his upside is much higher, and he can rush the passer when asked to do so. Expectations need to be tempered, as he is a rookie. But there’s no reason he can’t come in and get three-to-five sacks in the middle of the defense and be above average in pass coverage.

Advantage: Tyus Bowser

Correa needs to fight the “bust” label that haunts Ravens second round picks. In order to do that, he might have to outshine his teammate, who also happens to be a second round pick.
