Bottom Line:

Losing one of the NFL’s best up-in-coming slot cornerbacks in Tavon Young, it will be crucial that the rest of the defense steps up.

The pass rush needs to get home and the new pieces in the secondary need to gel as the season progresses. If not, we could see a similar year to 2014, where too many big plays are given up and games are lost.

But, it’s important to remember it is only June. The Ravens still have the entire summer and four preseason games to have the secondary gel together.

Tavon Young’s loss is brutal, but there is still plenty of time for the team to adjust to his loss. If the defense as a whole reaches its potential, there’s no reason to believe this squad can’t be great.
