The 2017 NFL Draft Class:

Before the NFL Draft, we figured we would see the Ravens take a good bit of offense. After the draft we wondered about the Ravens ignoring the offense. Now we see the reasoning. The Ravens stayed patient on help for the offense. When it became available they swooped in. It made the draft class look even better.

B+. In the moment, I gave the Ravens draft class a B-. While they got good players and a couple steals, the Ravens left the NFL Draft with three problem areas on their roster. The addition of Jeremy Maclin kicks the grade of the draft class up to a B+. I can’t give it an A. The Ravens may have drafted two offensive linemen on the third day of the draft, but the offensive line is still a major question mark for them. The draft picks were really good though. Marlon Humphrey is going to be one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL once he gets it together. A little experience and he’ll be a force to be reckoned with. Tyus Bowser and Tim Williams give the Ravens a good rotation at the outside linebacker spot and a future beyond Terrell Suggs. Bowser can play inside linebacker as well. Chris Wormley may be the Ravens most underrated pick. Wormley was one of College Football’s hardest workers. Now he’ll make offensive tackles work in the NFL. Nico Siragusa’s NFL position isn’t set in stone but we know he is a good run blocker. The Ravens got demonstrably better in this draft class. They didn’t just get better for right now. They got better for the long run.. GM. Baltimore Ravens. NFL DRAFT CLASS: OZZIE NEWSOME
