Every year, we read reports about undrafted rookies who stand out in training camp. Chips rest on the shoulders of these players. Because all 32 teams passed on them in the draft, they need to work harder than the rest of the roster to make the team.

This year, Ravens beat writers continue to rave about two undrafted wide receives: Quincy Adeboyejo out of Mississippi, and Tim White from Arizona State.

Both receivers share interesting features. Adeboyejo received scouting from 15 NFL teams, but chose the Ravens. Receivers coach Bobby Engram worked with Adeboyejo at the East-West Shrine Game. That relationship, cited by Adeboyejo himself, became the reason why he chose Baltimore.

White could quietly be one of the most athletic players on Baltimore’s roster. A triple jumper at Arizona State, White competed in the Olympic Track and Field Trials last summer. He came just shy of qualifying for the Olympic Games.

If you scroll through Twitter during Ravens practices, Adeboyejo and White’s names come up a lot. But, when it comes down to it, making plays in preseason games will go a much longer way than practice highlights. If these two rookies dress for the Ravens in the regular season, we need to see a lot from them over the next four preseason games.
