3. Taquan Mizzell makes a strong case for the 53 man roster

Mizzell played well in the Ravens battle with the Bills. The biggest offensive highlight of the night was Mizzell’s 15 yard touchdown. Mizzell is clearly a weapon for the Ravens passing game. The Ravens now have to figure out if they can keep another undersized running back in that role. Where does Mizzell stack up with Danny Woodhead and Buck Allen having the same strengths?

There will definitely be some tough roster math to do, if Mizzell ends up on the active roster. Mizzell has a certain flash about him that makes him intriguing. He’s a quick running back who changes directions really well. Mizzell is an undrafted free agent, who like Woodrum has exceeded expectations. The fact that we’re having this conversation is a very good thing for Mizzell. Mizzell made a strong case tonight. He impressed with the football in his hands.

Mizzell had six receptions for 54 yards. On a team that had little flash in the entire offensive unit, Mizzell made a big impression. Is he a lock for the 53 man roster? Absolutely not. Has he made it hard for John Harbaugh and the Ravens coaching staff to cut him? Absolutely. The Ravens offense has little to be excited about and Mizzell is an exciting player. That’s a strong argument.
