1. Larry Donnell:

Donnell does have a touchdown this preseason but he hasn’t done much. He has two receptions for three yards in the exhibition games, not exactly stellar production. Donnell looks like he will be the odd man out in the tight end group. He was brought in after Crockett Gillmore was lost for the season and subsequently released. Donnell hasn’t shown anything in a Ravens uniform to crack his way into the top three. Nick Boyle, Maxx Williams and Ben Watson are all players the Ravens can count on more than Donnell.

The Ravens usually boast a large group at tight end. I don’t see them keeping more than three tight ends this season. Maxx Williams offers experience and can make plays down the field. Nick Boyle is your go to guy over the middle of the field and your best blocking tight end. Williams is a match-up nightmare that hopefully keeps developing. It’s been a while since Donnell was a play-maker in the National Football League. He has the physical ability but he hasn’t been productive in the last couple of seasons.

You’ll notice that all of these players are on the offense. The defense has shown so much depth that it will be harder to cut players on that side of the ball. Offensively the Ravens, have not had much impressive action this preseason. The Ravens have some tough decisions facing them, but I don’t see these players making the team.
