Chris Schisler (Site Expert): Ravens 10-0

I have a hard time imagining that the Ravens defense isn’t going to live up to expectations. I also have a hard time predicting the offense is going to be fun to watch. In the ugliest football game of the week 1 slate, give me the purple and black. I think this is going to be a low scoring game. I could see a 17-7 kind of battle as well. It could a 13-10 sludge fest too. The moral of the story is that this isn’t a game for lovers of offense. This is an old school, punch you in the mouth on every single snap kind of football game.

This game is about who wins the battle at the line of scrimmage. Both defenses figure to have an advantage as the offensive line isn’t the strength of either team. I have more faith in the Ravens offensive line than I do for the Bengals line against the Ravens defense. Breshad Perriman and Jeremy Maclin aren’t going to be the stars of this game.

It’s all about defense:

If the Ravens win it will be behind strong performances of players like Michael Pierce, C.J. Mosley and Tony Jefferson. When you look at the Ravens and you see their power in the front seven, it’s hard to imagine good things happening for the Cincinnati offense.

Give me the Ravens offense to do just enough to win the game. Whether that’s putting a couple touchdowns on the board, or leaning entirely on Justin Tucker. I’ll make 10-0 my official prediction because it says it all. It will be a low scoring game. The Ravens offense won’t do much, but it will do enough to win with a strong defensive performance. Ravens fans may not be satisfied, but the team will walk away with that all important win.
