Baltimore Ravens: Game balls vs. Cincinnati Bengals
By Joe Schiller
2. C.J. Mosley
The Ravens still don’t seem to have decided between Kamalei Correa and Patrick Onwuasor at inside linebacker, but there are no questions about C.J. Mosley’s starting spot.
Mosley forced one of the five turnovers on Andy Dalton by making a key interception in the end zone. A touchdown would have given the Bengals the lead and the momentum, but Mosley took that right away. His decision to return the interception out of the end zone must have given John Harbaugh a heart attack, but he was able to hold on to the football nonetheless.
Now in his fourth season with the Ravens, Mosley is solidifying himself as one of the best inside linebackers in all of the NFL. Any comparisons to Ray Lewis are silly, as the two are completely different players. Mosley’s ability to defend the pass is unprecedented. You won’t find many other inside linebackers that can cover tight ends and receivers on a consistent basis.
I can’t see this being the last game ball that Mosley gets this season. By the way he’s playing, he could have another trip to the Pro Bowl by the end of the season.
